Road project 0007233: SR 211 FROM SR 347 TO SR 53
Construction Work Program · Widening · Cities: Braselton, Not City · Funding: GEPA · The project proposes widening the SR 211/Old Winder Highway corridor from SR 347/Friendship Rd to SR 53/Winder Highway from two to four lanes to address operation issues at future capacity. The lanes are proposed to be 12-ft wide with a 4-ft to 28-ft raised median. A multilane roundabout is proposed at Union Church Rd. The proposed length is approximately 3.3 miles. The southern project terminus is located at the signalized intersection with SR 347/Friendship Road and will tie to PI# 0016089 (currently in preconstruction). The northern terminus is the signalized T-intersection with SR 53/Winder Highway where the typical section was widened in 2005 under PI# 122020 (widening project for SR 53). Bicycle accommodations would consist of a 10-foot shared-use path from SR 347 through a proposed multilane roundabout at Union Church Road, then transition to a 4-foot bike lane with a 4-foot buffe
