Road project 0015551: SR 60 @ CHATTAHOOCHEE RIVER IN GAINESVILLE
Construction Work Program · Bridges · Cities: Gainesville · Funding: NEPA · This project replaces the original SR 60 bridge over the Chattahoochee River/Lake Lanier. The existing two-lane northbound bridge on SR 60/Thompson Bridge Road will be removed and replaced with a new two-lane bridge relocated west of the existing two-lane bridge to be retained southbound on SR 60/Thompson Bridge Road. After construction northbound SR 60/Thompson Bridge Road traffic will be shifted to the existing two-lane bridge and southbound SR 60/Thompson Bridge Road traffic will be shifted to the new alignment two-lane bridge. The proposed structure is approximately 1103 feet long by 39.25 feet wide. This includes two,12-foot travel lanes and eight foot outside rural shoulder and a four foot inside rural shoulder.
