The typical section of this segment of Peachtree Road includes 3 11-ft inside and 2 12-ft outside traffic lanes, a dedicated 11-ft NBLT and SBLT lane and urban shoulders, with sidewalk on each side. The total length of the project is approximately 600 linear feet. The project impacts multiple stakeholders (City of Atlanta, MARTA, Atlanta Beltline, the railroad, businesses, hospitals, and residential apartments).Hence there is a need to reduce construction time and impact. Due to the significance of the route, ABC Construction techniques should be considered. If ABC Construction methods are used, total project construction time is 18 months with the roadway being closed for multiple short durations during construction.
