Construction Work Program · Bridges · Cities: Milton · Funding: NEPA · Bridge replacement project of CS 1323/Hopewell Road bridge over Chicken Creek in Milton located approximately 5.8 miles north of Alpharetta. The total project length is approximately 0.5 miles. The project consists of replacing the existing 1 span bridge on County Street (CS) 1321/Hopewell Road at Chicken Creek. The existing bridge, Structure ID 121-0283-0, was built in 1948, and consists of one 30-foot long with an existing roadway width of 23.7’ and an existing deck width of 27.7’. CS 1321 is functionally classified as an Urban Minor Arterial and has a posted speed limit of 45 mph. The existing typical consists of two 10-foot lanes, one in each direction with 6-foot graded shoulders. The existing bridge is expected to be replaced with a new bridge on the existing alignment utilizing an offsite detour.
