Road project 0013897: SR 316 FROM E OF FENCE ROAD TO W OF SUGARLOAF PKWY

Under Construction · Interchange · Cities: Not City · Funding: GEPA · This project is ~1.5 mi & includes construction of SR 316 west of Fence Rd to west of Sugarloaf Pkwy interchange & will convert SR 316 to a limited access arterial w/ a new east facing clover interchange due to the existing CSX railroad line to the west. A new eastbound bridge will be constructed over the existing Colonial Pipeline to connect the interchange w/ SR 316 prior to the Sugarloaf Pkwy interchange. US 29/SR 8 Winder Hwy will be raised ~17', requiring a bridge to span over SR 316. MSE walls will be used at both Winder Hwy bridge approaches. Winder Hwy will be widened to provide two 12' lanes in each direction with a 20’ median (16’ raised) & sidewalk on both sides across the interchange & will transition to tie to existing. Direct access from Stanley Rd to Winder Highway will be restricted by the new interchange & Stanley Road will be relocated to a separate project (PI 0020634)
